Items on the agenda were presented by the President, Heather
Schroeder:
- Heather introduced herself and had all members introduce
themselves as well.
- 2007 Booster Club pins were given to all members in
attendance and will be given out to all members that stop by the
Booster Club table at gate 1 this evening.
- Autographed pictures of team players were distributed; one
to each family membership.
- Contact with media and code of conduct were discussed. No
member is to speak on behalf of the Booster Club, the Phoenix
Coyotes or any affiliation of the team. Only the board members
can speak in this manner.
- Privacy concerns were addressed. Last names will no longer
show on the website. This should cut down on spam and won’t show
on Google.
- Volunteering for the Club table will now have 10 points
awarded for any member that works the two hour window pre-game
and also for any member working during the periods. Any member
volunteering with out a ticket; must work during the game. All
volunteers need to contact Dave Horn or Heather Schroeder to be
put on the list at security. Duties are to help set up the table
pre-game, sell merchandise and try to get patrons to join the
Club. Members working during the game will sell merchandise, try
to get patrons to join the Club and help tear down the table at
the end of the second intermission.
- Silent auctions will be held once a month. They will be at
the Coyotes Charities table at gate 4 if the table is available.
Raffles can’t be held until the Club has been a 501c3 for five
years.
- The last item was a pink jersey signed in pink by the team
and brought in over $400.00.
- The treasurer, Rebecca Wininger, will have the October
financials posted on October 31st. There is over $1500.00 at
this time.
- The Booster Club will sell 50/50 tickets at the last home
game of the season on Thursday, April 3, 2008. There will need
to be at least 20 volunteers over the age of 18 to sell tickets.
Members under the age of 18 can help sell tickets but should not
handle the money. The Club could possibly also sell 50/50
tickets at the New Year’s Eve game on Monday, December 31, 2007.
If this becomes available, information will be sent to all
members to recruit volunteers also.
- Larry Halliday announced the membership total is at 114
members and continuing to grow.
- The road trip to Prescott to see the Sun Dogs and the
Roadrunners play went well. There were 21 members in attendance.
The club would also like to do a road trip to San Antonio, Texas
to see the Rampage play on November 30 - December 1, 2007.
Tickets are approximately $24 for each game, but members are
responsible for getting themselves there and home. Points will
be awarded for anyone that attends.
- Timothy Gassen, the author of a book about the Indianapolis
Racers, the first team Wayne Gretzky played with in the WHA,
would like to do a book signing at Barnes and Noble. One would
be done on both the east and west sides of town. There will be a
question and answer session also.
- What would members like to do together outside of hockey?
Some suggestions were a scavenger hunt at Dave and Busters,
skate with a player or two, paintball, go carts, bowling,
viewing parties or barbeques. Input is needed from the members
for future planning.
- The possibility of tailgating before games was presented for
nicer weather.
- Future meeting times will be four hours prior to the start
of the game. If it is a 7:00 game, meeting will be at 3:00, if
game is at 5:00 then meeting will be at 1:00. Meetings should
last approximately 1 hour.
The next Booster Club meeting is scheduled for 11/24/07 at 1:00
PM in the Coyotes offices lobby.
