Guest Speaker – Doug Moss
Agenda:
- Welcome back!
- New 50/50 game
- Tickets for Kids
- Sponsored player
- New charity opportunity might come up
- Volunteers
- Sundogs Road Trip
- Heart Association Walk in February
Notes:
- Welcome back everyone! We already have about the same
number of members that we had all of last season, and it is just the
preseason!
- We managed to pay for our own membership materials this time
around, so we are doing really well
- We have a lot of people who are earning a lot of points
already, which is really good news
- We will keep you up to date using email and the website
- We got a fund raising idea from the LA Kings
- Each game they have a raffle for an autographed puck - which
we can't do right now because of AZ Gaming laws
- They also do a 1st goal / 1st PIM game
- People buy a chance to pull a chip out of the cup with a
player's number on it
- If that player scores the first goal or gets the first
penalty, that person will win half of the pot
- We need a price for the chances - $1 or $2? More?
- The members suggested that $2 is a good price
- There were also suggestions that we have more than one
game going on at once to increase people's chances of
winning
- We will review what happens with the game and make
changes if needed
- We are participating in the Tickets for Kids program this season
- A donation of $2500 sends 275 kids to a Coyotes game during
the season
- This will get us a scoreboard message during every game, and
also some benefits that we will turn into fund raising
opportunities for the club
- Sponsored player
- We will be sponsoring a player again this season for a $5000
donation to Coyotes Charities
- We do not know the player yet, but we have asked for Derek
Morris again
- He was good to us last season, so we wanted to stay with him
again this year
- We will get a scoreboard message every time he scores a
goal, and also when they explain the program sometime early in
the game
- Teammates for Kids program MAY be coming soon
- Garth Brooks has a wonderful program where the players can
sponsor themselves and make a donation at the end of the season
based on a statistic of their own
- Garth triples that money, and donates 1/3 to his charity,
1/3 to the player's charity of choice, and 1/3 to the team's
charity - Coyotes Charities
- The Coyotes are trying to develop a fan based program to tie
in with the player program
- The Booster Club will be a big part of this program if it
comes to fruition. We will be able to find a way to
sponsor every player on the team for something, and make a nice
donation to support three worthy causes
- More information will be sent out when we get it
- Volunteers
- We are going to need volunteers to work the table at every
game
- There are details about what is required on our website as
well as a list of the games we need help with
- If you'd like to volunteer, email
volunteers@phxcoyotesboosterclub.com
- Sundogs road trip
- We are going to take a road trip to see the Sundogs raise
their championship banner on the 17th and 18th
- Tickets are $14 each
- If you'd like to go, please email
updates@phxcoyotesboosterclub.com
- American Heart Association
- We will be doing the Heart Walk again this year
- February 28th
- We can start fund raising for it any time, and the
information is already on our website
- Soon we will send out the donation request email to all
members so you can get set up and start seeking your own
donations
- Our next meeting will be on October 25th in the arena
- More information will be sent out via email
