The
Booster Club supplied refreshments. Items on the agenda were presented by the
Booster Club Board Officers:
- Many members earned rewards, and these were handed out by
Heather Schroeder, the President.
- Heather announced that membership is up to 190 members.
- Heather reminded everyone that members get the media
releases as a benefit of being part of the Club. Please do not
respond or reply to these emails. All questions can be sent
through the Booster Club.
- Dave Horn, Vice President, stated we have nine home games in
March. He expressed the Club still needs volunteers for during
the first two periods of most upcoming games. There are several
different auctions the Club would like to offer, but volunteers
are needed to work the table to do an auction. There are only
volunteers for the game on 03/08/08 so far. Please contact him
at
volunteer@coyotesbc.org to sign up to earn
points.
- Jenn Harrison, Treasurer, announced the balance in the
checking account is $5548.00 after the most recent deposits and
making the payment for the Club hats. She explained the Club
made $375.00 from the auctioned basket of Jovanovski items. And
the Club has made over $2000.00 from filling in at the last
minute when needed for the 50/50 raffle. If Coyotes Charities
doesn’t have someone for the 50/50, even at the last minute, the
Club will fill in to sell. If you are available for 30-60
minutes or longer, your help is greatly appreciated. Every
ticket sold brings $0.25 to the Club. The Club is scheduled to
sell 50/50 tickets at the last home game on April 3rd. Please
let Dave or Heather know if you are available to help.
- Club merchandise is for sale to members only. Pucks are $5,
long sleeve shirts are $10 and hats are $15.
- The road trip for the last game of the regular season to
Anaheim on Sunday, 04/06/08, will be left to your own travel
plans. Heather will look into getting a block of tickets
together for the game. Please let her know if you are interested
in going as soon as possible for arrangements to be made. It is
a 5:00 PM game. If the Club rented a bus, it would be $4,000 for
55 people and drive all night to come home. There wasn’t enough
interest for the bus.
- 2008-09 season renewal will begin in March. There is a
possibility of getting a mini helmet as a bonus for joining
early. There will be a season + special starting March 1st and
going through all of next season for a $10 charge over the
regular price
- Beth Champie Award will be for the player that has been
shown the most dedication to the fans. Her family approves and
Heather read a very touching letter from her daughter. There
will be an online survey from all players that have played this
season for all members to vote. Heather is asking for
suggestions of what the award itself should look like.
- The next event is a viewing party at CK’s Tavern and Grill
in Ahwatukee (4142 E Chandler Blvd) on Feb 27th at 6:30PM.
Members will earn 5 membership points.
- The American Heart Association walk is on Saturday,
03/01/08 at Tempe Beach Park (54 E. Rio Salado Parkway).
Registration is at 8:00-8:45AM and the walks start at 8:45-10:00
AM. There is no registration fee. Coyotes Charities will have
shirts for the walkers. You can wear your Booster Club shirt and
hat. You may purchase them if you haven’t earned them yet. This
walk is work 25 membership points. Please meet at their table or
near the inflatables. Please turn in your pledges for donations.
It has a 1 mile and a 5K (3 miles) walk. The Coyotes are a
Bronze level sponsor to the AHA and this is Doug Moss’ favorite
charity.
- The Booster Club Convention is coming up in August. Heather
Schroeder, Marc Lee and Jenn Harrison will be attending. Heather
will meet with the Chicago Blackhawks Booster Club this week and
will have more information when she returns.
- Saturday, March 22nd will be the meeting for the Booster
Club Board elections for next season. Since the Treasurer
position was refilled during the season, it will be open for
election. The Secretary and Membership Chair positions will also
be open for election. Jaclyn and Larry Halliday have decided to
finish this season, but not continue on the board for next
season. Anyone interested in being a board member, please
contact Heather or Dave.
- Game Night with the Coyotes 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on
Sunday, March 9 at Dave & Buster’s Desert Ridge (21001 North
Tatum Blvd. Suite 44-1400 in Phoenix). Tickets are $50 for
adults and $25 for children 12 and under. To purchase tickets,
contact Valerie McIntosh at 623-772-3556 or Kari Herrick at
623-772-3242. Members will earn 10 membership points.
The next Booster Club meeting is scheduled for 03/22/08 at 3:00
PM in a Jobing.com arena Tower Suite. GENERAL ELECTIONS will
be held, and we hope to have Doug Moss as a guest speaker.
