Sponsored Player - Derek Morris

The Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club is sponsoring Derek Morris during the 2007-2008 season.  Each time Derek scores a goal in Phoenix, the Booster Club makes a donation to Coyotes Charities.

We will keep track of Derek's activities during the season on this page.

Beth Champie Memorial Trophy Presentation

The Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club selected Derek Morris as the inaugural recipient of the Beth Champie Memorial Trophy, presented to the player who demonstrates the most dedication to the fans and the community.

The trophy was presented in an on-ice ceremony before the final game of the season.  Heather Schroeder, Booster Club president, presented the trophy to Derek.

Coyotes Charities Check Presentation

The Booster Club presented Coyotes Charities with a check for the sponsorship of Derek Morris in a pre-game ceremony on March 20th.  This donation was just a dream at the beginning of the season, but thanks to the dedication of the Booster Club members was made a reality during this presentation.

GOAL #5 - At the Colorado Avalanche game on February 22nd, Derek got his fifth goal of the season with just 2.8 seconds remaining in the game.  His goal tied the score and earned the Coyotes one all important point.  The game ended up going to a marathon 12 round shootout, where the Avalanche pulled ahead to win.  This clutch goal resulted in yet another donation to Coyotes Charities by the Booster Club.

GOAL #4 - At the Calgary Flames game on February 19th, Derek got his fourth goal of the season.  It was a beautiful power play goal during the second period.  Unfortunately, the Flames went on to win the game.  But with this goal, the Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club made a donation to Coyotes Charities.

GOAL #3 - At the Buffalo Sabres matinee on January 21st, Derek Morris got his fourth goal of the season!  It was one of three goals scored during the second period, in a game that the Coyotes eventually won 6-2.  Thank you Derek!  With this goal, the Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club made a donation to Coyotes Charities.

GOAL #2 - At the Toronto Maple Leafs game on December 24th, Derek Morris scored his second home goal!  With this goal, the Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club made a donation to Coyotes Charities!

GOAL #1 - At the game on October 20th, Derek Morris scored a goal against the Red Wings.  With this goal, the Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club makes a donation to Coyotes Charities.
